First, City Weekend redesigned its
website. It was a long time coming, but it still looks like a cheap travel/tour website as opposed to a place for locals to get meaningful information. Not surprisingly, most of the listings under "events" are just glorified ads for travel companies advertising for "Tibet Travel Discount" and "Miao Lusheng Festival Tour."
Second, this ad on the Beijinger caught my eye:

Yes, that says
pornSFW.com. Whether the images on that site are actually SFW -- safe for work -- depends entirely on where you work.

yeah, so, i agree that actually all of the expat magazine websites look pretty crappy. um, also timeout, and even the beijinger.
no comment on the "sfw" picture, haha.
