Oh, just a car on fire.
I was on my bike riding down Second Ring Road when I smelled burning rubber somewhere between Dongzhimen and Dongsishitiao. I have to admit there was a brief though intense moment of trepidation as I whizzed by, wondering if the car would explode.
It didn't, I think much to everyone's disappointment.
