Watching the Paralympic Opening Ceremony...

...From a bar called Nashville.


I'm not embarrassing myself by taking pictures of a TV inside a bar, am I?







I mean, it was the Opening Ceremony, after all. And while I thought some parts were a bit slow and others a bit melodramatic (Zhang Yimou trying too hard for the symbolic), overall it was very good. Certainly very coordinated and -- because this is China, and this seems to be a theme with this country -- massive.

There's a scene in the video below of a torch hand-off, as seen from one of Nashville Bar's TVs. The rest of the video is of a local band singing the final bars to Led Zeppelin's timeless "Stairway to Heaven."
